"Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" Strips Lyrics!

I know. Rubbish! It even sits at a tempting Loading... screen. I wonder if they meant it to work?

Anyone know any fixes as this saved me 4G on my iPhone?

This *****... I have 5k tracks in ALAC format and this feature will be a killer feat for me. But wiped my lyrics with "loading" screen.

Hope Apple fix this ASAP.

I tried this on my 3GS and every time I sync, it downloads the entire music library. I turned it back off.

yup, same thing happens with my iPod touch 2G with 3.1.3... saved me 4GB of free space, but now no lyrics for most of my songs!!

I'm now using a custom script to convert tracks using the fake 128kbps VBR mode in iTunes to my iPhone3GS keeping ALAC tracks in my library.

I think I'll never see this fixed in future releases of iTunes and I'll never see TrueVBR encoding directly in iTunes, even with QT already supporting TrueVBR modes.

Lyrics issue and 128 conversion is apparently fixed in 9.1.1

Not fixed for me. 9.1.1.11 and still no lyrics on iPhone. Even after unchecking the "conver higher bit rate" option.

iTunes 9.1.1 fixed it for me, although it appears that not all songs have re-synced with lyrics. Perhaps removing and re-adding would work for those still without lyrics?

Go to iTunes, and then go to "About iTunes". If you're using version 9.1.1 (11) you may need to download the newest version here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install it. This update won't show up in Software Update, so you'll need to download it directly from the website.
