Is port forwarding broken Airport 7.5 & 7.5.1?

Hi,

VPN, SSH, Remote Desktop nothing works - the Mac Mini Server can not be reached from the internet. I now have exactly the same problem on my father's home network too since changing over to the current 2TB Time Capsule model - I can't SSH or Remote Desktop into his machine. The previous TC model we had running 7.4.2 works fine for both of us. Is anyone having issues with port forwarding on TC or AEBS 7.5 devices?

The Macs are being allocated static IPs by DHCP Client ID and the IP allocated is correct.

MacPro 3.2Ghz 10GB RAM, Mac Mini Server 2.53Ghz 4GB RAM, iPhone 3G, Mac OS X (10.6.3), Be* Pro 24576/2560kbps on Netgear DG834v4 and Time Capsule (Dual Band)

Plugged the old Time Capsule back in with 7.4.2 firmware and everything works - VPN, SSH & Remote Desktop. My father still cannot connect to the VPN though from behind the TC with 7.5.1 but all other Macs and iPhones not connected to a Base Station running 7.5.1 are fine again. On 7.5 even ping times out.

I am also having trouble with Port mapping working with the new 7.5.1 firmware. Port mapping was working fine before update, now all attempts to connect from WAN on ports are rejected. Tested with: telnet <wan-ip> <port>

I have removed and re-added all port mapping entries - no luck. Power cycled several times - no luck.

Other info:
I have an: Airport Extreme (Simultaneous Dual-Band II) running Version: 7.5.1. It is setup to "Allow this this network to be extended"
Network is being extended with an Airport Express with 802.11n running 7.4.2

Hi,

Probably not desirable in your case but having the AEX as DHCP router and TC extending it (so the other way around) will probably resolve the issue meanwhile. If it doesn't then there may be something else going on in your network. My own solution to the port forwarding problem was to have the 7.4.2 device leading the 7.5.1 via Ethernet plugs.
