Question about footnotes in Pages '09

Hello, hopefully somebody can help me out with this problem: How do I set footnotes up, so that the text contained by a footnote is allowed to spread past only one page? I frequently encounter situations in which I have to make a rather long footnote-text near the end of a page, and while writing Pages - the program - moves more and more lines of the normal text from this page to the following page with the result of gaps between this and the following page.

But seriously: I really can't believe this hasn't been taken care of by Apple!

But seriously, you believe what you want.
I wrote what is the true app design.

If you aren't satisfied, use the dedicated channel :
_Go to "Provide Pages Feedback" in the "Pages" menu_, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'11 😉

I mean, come on, this really is basic stuff, I'd expect to be properly handled by a word processor...

Writing that here is perfectly useless.
We aren't Apple employees but end users like you (but with more experience of AppleLand).

Yvan, you wrote so many times "cross your fingers, and wait at least for iWork'09,10,11". I'm a little bit skeptical about improving this feature by apple, and probably you too. So, would you suggest - in your personal opinion - the best writing tool for academic stuff? To me and maybe to everyone will post the same old sad issue?
Thanks.

You are right.
I'm skeptical about an improvement upon this feature. But, if we don't ask, we may be sure that we will not get it.

I'm a French user so I have no idea about which app may be the best one for your needs.
peterBreis often gave a link to a web page where he describe several WP.
I feel that it may be useful to read it.

Unless you work for Apple and actually have jurisdiction in moderating these forums, please don't tell people that should not tell Apple what features they want. I agree with the poster who feels that a footnote (citations, endnotes) feature is essential to a word processor and Apple should include this feature as soon as possible. I have switched over everything but my brief writing to Pages as Pages is superior to Word, but Pages doesn't have a citation feature. Are you listening Apple?

I guess that you need new glasses 😉
May you explain where I wrote such a thing ?

I just wrote :

and that I am skeptical about the delivery of the described feature.

Yvan never said that, just that Pages does not have the feature.

Are you listening Apple?

No. …and Yvan also explained that.

Someone needs to read more carefully what is written not what is imagined.
