Deleting the On-the-Go playlist from my iPod

I am trying to delete the On-the-Go playlist from my iPod. I hate it. Period. It is in the way and annoying. I am talking about the actual playlist and not just the songs in it. I cannot move it, rename it or delete it. I have tried to delete it via iTunes but that did not work. It is a serious problem because the iPod wheels aren't precise enough to scroll without visually checking your progress. So, I have my own playlist that I created that doesn't change, rotate, disappear, etc. to rest on the bottom as the last playlist to choose. That way, I can scroll down all the way and the last one is the one I actually NEED.
I used to not have this problem, but when I got my replacement Classic, it came with this horrible playlist and it has been getting me more and more frustrated and annoyed.

How do I get rid of it? Please tell me it is removable and not considered a "feature". Because features are things that are optional and useful. Not things that cannot be changed and are annoying.

I would even be ok with renaming it to get it out of the way! As it is, if I hold the center button down too long, I end up with even MORE of those on-the-go things!! ACK!

Uhm...Brilliant. Really. Don't hold it down too long? If it were that simple, I would already be doing it.

The point is that it is annoying and I would like to know how to remove it. As I didn't have it on my original iPod, I don't understand why it has to be on this one.

AND IF IT IS NOT REMOVABLE? I WOULD LIKE TO TELL APPLE TO FIX IT FOR FUTURE RELEASES!

So, does anyone out there have any actual solutions?

Thanks.

Obviously not. If you hold the centre button down for "long enough" (or in your case, too long) the song (or album, or playlist) you're highlighting will be added to the *On-The-Go playlist.* That's how it works - you press a button and it does one thing - you press-and-hold the same button and it does something else. In fact - that's how a lot of buttons on many products work. On my Sony Ericsson phone for instance, if I hold a button down long enough, the letter options become numbers! So Apple are doing nothing different to anyone else.

You can't.

Perhaps a lot of users asked for the facility to create a playlist "on the go". After all, if you're away from your computer, how else would you create a playlist of songs that you want to listen to there and then?
