Can I output to *component* video from the Mini DisplayPort?

I need to connect a MacBook Aluminum (Late2008) with a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and a Mini DisplayPort to an HDTV that +doesn't have+ an HDMI connection. I'd like to output the highest quality that that TV can accept, but the only HD option on the TV is Component video (Y, Pr, Pb).

I have the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.

I have found a cable to convert from DVI to Component <http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023504&pid=2704&seq=1&format=2#description> but the site has a stern warning:

"THIS CABLE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER'S DVI PORT TO THE COMPONENT INPUT ON YOUR HDTV unless your video card supports component out function through it's DVI port (please confirm with your video cards documentation before purchasing. Some require adapter, not this cable.)"

This is because Y, Pr, Pb is an analog signal, and many DVI connectors do not output to analog. The connector on my Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter appears to be a DVI-D which I believe is digital-only. The site also warns the video card must be capable of sending Y, Pr, Pb… which are not the standard RGB signals (so the card would need to understand how to send both).

After an evening of searching these support forums (couldn't find the term component anywhere) and Googling (which leads me towards this not working) I cannot find a definitive answer.

Does anyone know definitively?
