Where are my iTunes MP3 files?

When I open ITunes various songs appear in Library>Music but I can't find them stored on my computer...They have been purchased from iTunes Downloads...I want to transfer them to another computer...but where are they...I can transfer them to my iPod!!!

What's happening please?

eMAc, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

right-click on one of these tracks and choose +show in finder+.

Did that...nothing happens

Other MP3s show their location in the iTunes folder but the downloaded MP3s don't.

If I do a search, they cannot be located.

But, they're obviously there somewhere!

If you downloaded them from the iTunes Store they are AACs, not MP3s, although I don't think that affects the problem you're seeing.

If they will play in iTunes, then iTunes by definition knows where the files are, and the method described by Giant will show them. If iTunes does not know where they are, use Finder to search on your computer.

This doesn't solve that strange file location problem, but you can just select and drag any songs from itunes to copy them to any location you want. Right from the itunes application.
