Apple iPod FM radio

I have an iPod Nano and purchased the radio which as far as I can see should work with the new Classic 160Gb. When it is plugged in it will only read the odd frequencies not the even ones. That is 97.3 fine 92.2 cannot/will not display. Any ideas about the problem?
Thanks
Chris

The FM broadcast in the United States starts at 88.0 MHz and ends at 108.0 MHz. The band is divided into 100 channels, each 200 kHz (0.2 MHz) wide. The center frequency is located at 1/2 the bandwidth of the FM Channel, or 100 kHz (0.1 MHz) up from the lower end of the channel. For example, the center frequency for Channel 201 (the first FM channel) is 88.0 MHz + 0.1 MHz = 88.1 MHz. Every FM center frequency ends with a decimal extension of .1, .3, .5, .7, or .9. AM and FM station assignments in other countries may not be made according to these procedures. In some countries, an FM station may be assigned a frequency with an even decimal such as 106.2 MHz. Hope this helps.

R40ryder. Thank you for your detailed explanation and whilst I understand what you say, in the UK, where this chunk of rock is on the verge of sinking, the standard FM frequency band is crowded with stations, many using the even decimal. If I tune into my local station which transmits on 96.2, on either 96.1 or 96.3 I get noise because I am slightly off frequency. The FM radio works great with the 5th Gen. Nano and picks up the even frequencies no problem. Any further ideas? Thanks again for your input. Regards Chris

I should have noticed where you were writing from and realized it was the European market. And I can't take credit for the explanation. I copied it from the Federal Communications Commission webpage. I would think that an iPod accessory radio tuner destined for the UK, like other digitally tuned radios, would allow the even decimal frequency. Unless it wasn't purchased there.
