We purchased 1 1Pad for the household to play with. We have 3 different iTunes accounts. How can we sync each of 3 different accounts to the same iPad? Is that even possible? Do you download the iTunes app 3 times?

You can't sync three different accounts to one iPad.

I'm guessing, but I've yet to try this as I don't own an iPad, that you might be able to do the following.

    1. Have separate user accounts on your Mac, each with their own instance of iTunes.
    2. Begin with the iPad and User 1. Sync with iTunes and back it up.
    3. Disconnect iPad.
    4. Switch to User 2. Re-sync the iPad as a fresh/restore version, erasing User 1.
    5. Repeat as needed when users want to switch.

Ideally, when someone is done using the iPad, they would sync to iTunes to back it up.

That does seem like a royal pain though. I'd head to the Apple feedback area and pipe in on the multiple user accounts request/issue for the iPad.

Again - I don't have an iPad, and can't say if the above will work. Just thought it might, as you can do something similar with iPhones (I did that for an old iPhone 2G that was handed down to my parents).

Kind of falls down at the first stage - there are no multiple accounts on an iPad.

Have a read of this in the meantime ... http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPad_UserGuide.pdf

Tamara is spot on as usual - single iTunes accounts only.

Right - I'm not suggesting that multiple accounts exist on the iPad at one time.

I'm suggesting erasing the iPad between each usage, basically creating a new account (from a backup) each time, from different iTunes users/accounts.

It seems like that is possible based on the instructions on "Backing up iPad" and "Restoring iPad," pp. 138-140.

    That's not possible at all?

Sorry to sneak another question on your thread but I didn’t want to start a new one when I’m sure this has already been address somewhere else. Hope you don’t mind.
Kind of on the reverse, I have pre-ordered a 3G iPad that I will not be sharing. My Son and I do share an iTunes account on my PC. He has a iPhone and I do not - so my question is this: Will I be able to only sync the iPad applications that I purchase for the iPad, without simultaneously syncing the 88 apps he has for his iPhone that I don’t want?
