iPad not charging on Mac Mini

Use the wall charger if you can.

Which Mac Mini? and if the iPad needs something special then they should have said it. I did hear that they charge slower from USB vs. wall charger.

If it's going to work the system profiler will show the device connecting at 1200 mA per the knowledge base article listed above

I am having the same problem from both front usb ports:

iPad will only charge via USB when connected to a high power port. I can charge on my wifes iMac, but cannot on my older Macbook Pro. USB charging is also very slow when compared to the ac adapter.

Thats weird. Sure it's not just charging slow? Its suppose to take 10 hours on usb to charge only 4 with wall.

I have a MacPro version 2,1 with dual quadcores. I can't get the ipad to charge from either the front or back USB ports or from a powered USB hub. Yet it will charge from my 15" MacBook Pro which is just weird that it will charge from the laptop, but not the tower.

Try the USB's on the back of ACD, they are "high-speed USB bus".

it won't work on my 3 year old iMac2. Tried vis powered hub and on a direct connection.

I checked system profiler and it does "see" the iPad.

Unfortunately the KB articles above tell the sad tale - if you look in system profiler and you're USB ports put out 500ma as my December 2006 MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.33 17" does then you are out of luck for charging while syncing. Glad they "threw in" the charger.
