iPad not syncing

iPad is not syncing with contacts, notes or photos. It does sync apps, songs, etc. I have no problem syncing contacts or notes with my iPhone 3gS.

I have tried syncing every which way to Sunday but still won't. I have even tried restoring my iPad. Everything else works great but this is really starting to get annoying. Its also ruining the experience.

Someone help.....PLEASE!!!!

I cannot sync contacts or calendar from Outlook on Windows XP to the iPad. Music, photos, videos, and apps all sync'd OK. I select "Sync contacts with Outlook" - "All contacts" and "Sync calendar with Outlook" - "All calendars". Then hit "Apply" and it goes through the sync cycle and says "iPad sync is complete" but there is nothing in my contacts or calendar on the iPad. I also tried checking the "Advanced" options at the bottom that say "Replace information on this iPad" - "Contacts" & "Calendars". Same result.

I've been syncing my Outlook contacts and calendar to my iPhone for years with no problems.

Any help?

I have a similar issue...works fine with my iPod Touch but won't "consistently" sync Outlook calendar or contacts. It just hangs for up to an hour saying it's syncing. It said the same thing for bookmarks, but they were there when I brought up Safari on the iPad. I say it won't sync consistently because it worked fine and in only a few seconds but only once. That's enough for a while with my contacts, but my calendar is far more fluid and I need to be able to sync to Outlook daily.

Anyone figure out the issue yet?

Tried it, no luck. In fact, not only did it not sync my IE bookmarks, it wiped the few I'd added since Saturday! Still no contacts or notes.

I'm thinking about uninstalling iTunes and wiping all Apple registry entries then reinstalling (keep the iTunes DB though!). Not sure that will work, but can't think of anything else.

My mail and contacts were not syncing either and I was getting sync error's on start up and plugging in the iPad. I tried to start the syncservice.exe and got an error "cannot find objc.dll". so I added "C:\Program Files\Common files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to the Path, for Win XP. Right click My computer...properties...Advanced tab...environment Variables button. Find Path and edit.

Now that this was fixed on to the other issue. I then got a different error, forget what it was, but by renaming C:\windows\system32\sqlite3.dll to sqlite3_system32.dll everything started to work and use the version in Path. Now there may be a different sqlite3.dll causing your problem, so I suggest a find and rename them one by one to see what other issues this might cause.

Another file I read about was the libxml2.dll...basically do the same with that file as iTunes broke stuff...

I hope this helps someone out...took me hours to find stuff and all if working now.

It isn't intuitive, but I had similar problems and believe I've found out what was happening.

I was using the cable that came with my iPhone to sync my iPad. What the heck, it's universal, right?

Apparently not. Try using the cable that actually came with the iPad. There is apparently something different about it. Now, backup and sync on my iPad fly.

I've got the same problem, but it's common to both my 3GS and iPad. I spent over an hour on the phone with Apple and tried all their troubleshooting with no luck. According to the tech support supervisor the Apple engineers are working on the problem. It started about the same time iTunes 9.1 came out so my feeling is they have a bug.

Switching to the original synch cable that came with the iPad solved my "Backup didn't complete because the iPad disconnected".

Solution: Use the original cable that came with the iPad.

Shame on you Apple for doing this. An iPhone cable purchased from a retailer will not properly synch.

A second cable is still outstanding from my original pre-order. Obviously I need to confirm a proper synch will take place with this new cable.

I am having the same issues trying to sync with Outlook 2007. All apps, music and movies are syncing but not my contacts or calendar items. I am using the same computer that I use to sync my iPhone and they are all syncing without any problems. When I connect my iPad it backs up correctly, syncs photo's and when it starts syncing contacts an error message box appears. However, there is no error message just the word ERROR and a blank box. When I click on OK it begins to sync calendars and another ERROR message box appears. It proceeds like it is syncing my calendars and contacts and then transfers any new purchases I have made from iTunes. I've tried all the suggestions posted here and nothing seems to be working.
Hopefully there will be a fix soon from Apple!
