IPad screen problem

I have been using my 64 gb iPad foe about an hour. After 45 minutes a blue line appeared about a half inch from the top of the screen. It is a pixel wide and runs the entire width of the screen. I have turned it off and on but it's still there. I live the machine but I can't live with this major distraction. Is anyone out there having the same problem?

I have the same problem. Ten minutes out of the box I noticed a blue line running horizontally across the screen.

It appears that it is stuck pixels (hardware). Support had me restore it to no avail. It is being sent back for repair.

I feel that I should get another new unit and not a unit that has been repaired. I did not pay $700 for repaired unit.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I spoke with Apple support. They have recognized this as a hardware problem. I am going to swap the unit for a new one but since I am in Canada I have to make the round trip to the nearest Apple store in Washington state and deal with the border. It will be worth it to get rid of this really annoying line. I hope not too many others have this problem.

Apart from weak WiFi performance (which I logged with Apple Support some time ago), I have had no problem with my iPad.

2 or 3 days ago a blue 1-pixel line appeared 1 inch below the top of the (portrait) screen.

Restoring factory settings changed the colour to green; restoring all my data and programs changed the colour of the line back to blue.

Rang Apple support for the UK, reported what I had done, and then they said they would send a replacement. Excellent service from Lesley in Greece.

Meg, did you read any of the posts in the thread you've posted in? You have what is almost sure to be an obvious hardware fault which will result in Apple swapping your machine out for a new one. Call AppleCare to start that process.

You can they some things on your own first, if you like, although the probability of success will be low. Read prior posts, or other related threads, to see what you might try.
