congrats to all the new iPad owners, i have a Question to ask.
it's obvious that the iPad screen smuges, but is it worth to get a screen protector or just get a lil soft cloth n wipe it and also is it easy to get scratches?
Probably yes on all fronts, but as far as any protectors will take a while. For now all is Apple accessories. So you should get the case and a bag to tote it in. Scratches will obviously happen sooner or later. As long as you don't mind any that would eventually happen, but avoid sharp objects is essential as this isn't a pocket device anymore.
yeah. i was planning on getting the case for it, i'm just the type where i hate to open it and get a scratch within the first 5 mins of dashing $500 bucks.
The glass on the iPad is scratch resistant and has the same finger print resistant coating that the iPhone 3GS has. The glass is pretty difficult to scratch. The point of the finger print coating is not to prevent finger prints from showing up, but to allow for them to be wiped off without using a liquid cleaner.
so you can only install the apps they offer? can you store anything at all? i bought the 64gb for that purpose, so i wouldnt alwasy have to take me laptop ;-(
I will be getting a screen protector... This link below is the company Apple has inside their retail stores right now... rumor is that Apple is pulling out all screen protector films soon....but you can go directly to this vendor still...
Quite honestly, I have thus far taken a simple dish towel to it twice to wipe off the smudges, and it looks afterwards as though it had just come out of the box. Unless you're worried about it getting jostled around while transporting and scratching, I doubt if you need a screen protector for it. This is however, only my opinion.
Now, this is just my opinion, and others might disagree.
I originally used the screen protector on my iPhone, and when I wanted to replace it, wasn't happy with the way it left gunk on the screen, plus it always had one bubble I couldn't work to the side. So, I didn't replace it. I have used it without a screen protector for the longest time, and while it does get smudged, all I do is wipe it off with a damp towel.
I am not going to bother with a screen protector for the iPad for the same reason. Fingerprints and smudges can be removed in the same way. That glass is tough.
