How to download photos to ipod touch

Bought an ipod touch 8GB a couple days ago.
I want to download a couple pictures I have on Photoshop to the touch.
On the itunes home page I can only see Near the top a home icon, music, movies, TV shows, ap store, podcasts, audio & itunesU.
Nowhere can I see photos.
How do I do this?
Can I just only download a few?
Can I get a hard copy of the manual?
