that was funny... Probably true though. Why can adobe and apple just kiss and make up already. If adobe was smart they would make it and charge 20-30 bucks for it because everyone would still get it.
Mobile flash is horrible and probably would not work with the app you are trying to use anyway.
Based on my experience with it in windows mobile it caused a lot of crashes, kept telling me my flash was outdated and I needed to update it to view content-problem was there was no update for the mobile version.
Until adobe stops treating apple users as second class citizens(no 64bit version, no hardware acceleration, long lag time for adobe apps) and greatly improves flash performance-it ain't coming to these devices.
It isn't just about Adobe treating the Mac OS as second class citizens. When colleagues ask me for help because they keep crashing while online Flash is often the culprit. And I'm talking windows xp, vista, and 7. adobe has become complacent.
I bought my iPad because the tiny script on my iPhone touch was hard to see. When you get to my (and SJ's age, you'll understand). I just wanted something I could use to buy things from the iTunes store without using a magnifying glass. It's GREAT for that! Not real sure what Flash is. I sure miss AOL, back then the internet was so much simpler, thanks Apple for bringing the good old days back!
The problem is that Flash is everywhere. To release a product like the iPad, which is billed as the best way to view the Web, without Flash is disingenuous at best. Yes, Flash is used for ads and video, but it's also used for Rich Internet Application and games. Those are the real reasons that Flash is not allowed on iPhone OS -- people could use other apps without getting them through the App Store.
Steve needs to take a Valium or something and let Adobe release Flash via the app store. If users like it it will succeed. If not, it won't. Simple as that.
And while he's at it, Steve should finally get Blu-ray running on Mac OS. Without choices, people will eventually go elsewhere. It won't happen immediately, but over time it will.
well, i know that 9 times out of 10 when safari starts hanging on my macbook pro and i check the activity monitor, it's the Flash Plugin that's sucking the life out of the machine. Sooooo, I think Mr Jobs has a valid point about the instability and poor performance of Flash. It may not be his ONLY reason, but it's definitely a valid point.
And, as had been said here before, if 45 million iPhones, plus 40 million iPod Touches are any indication, the lack of Flash probably won't hurt the iPad much. Just my 4.5 cents.
