Nokia Mural (6750) and isync

I've been looking and can't find: Is it possible to sync Ical with my Nokia 6750? I know I"ll have to get a compatible usb cable, but before I buy that, can it be done? Thanks.

I have the same problem.

I can not get my Nokia 6750 ("Mural") to sync using iSync.

AT&T, just today when I upgraded to this cell phone, said that it would sync using BlueTooth.

My old Motorolla V551 has had no problem syncing via iSync.

Any one have a solution?

Thanks in advance for any help.

mintacc,

It appears that the Nokia 6750 is definitely not able to sync via any method according to Nokia (I just spoke with them and they had no solution).

Also there is this page on their site that appears to indicate the above is true...
<http://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/search?fullcontent=true&cat=su pport&page=1&comp=Nokia+6750&cnt=1&qt=OSX&np=discussions>

And here the Assistant Manager at my AT&T cellular store assured me this was possible and of all things he is a Mac user!

I have wasted hours trying to get it to work but after finally getting through to Nokia I see it is not.

So... if you are in the USA remember that you have 30 days to exchange or completely cancel your two-year contract, with no early-termination fine (i.e. "Buyer's Remorse" clause).

Hope this saves you at least a little of the wasted time I have spent on this.

Minntac,

I finally found an iSync plugin that allows my Address Book and iCal to be synced.

Very bottom of the following Nokia forum page is a link to it...
<http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/PC-and-Mac-Software/Nokia-and-Mac-syncin g-with-iSync-WHEN/m-p/493414>

Here is the download page: http://www.mediafire.com/?lmfxjti5fgi

Once it begins to sync it will look like it stalls for 1-2 minutes but it eventually continues.

It took around 4-5 minutes to completely sync.

Enjoy!

After pairing your Nokia via BlueTooth... start iSync... go to Devices > Add Device while iSync is the active (front most app). You probably already know this...

One anomaly that I have noticed (even with my last Motorola cell phone and iSync) is that sometimes phone numbers, events, etc. will not be deleted when synced again (maybe just me).

If this happens... or if iSync says that your memory is full and that it can not add all of your events... then (after deselecting some of your calendar boxes in iCal, or creating a smaller group phone list in Address Book) I have found that (while iSync is front most app) if you go to the menu bar and select Devices > Reset All Devices... iSync will _erase/reformat_ your Nokia and then only add the newly selected items. And you can continue to trial/error this until you reduce the number of phone numbers and calendar events to fit on the memory card in your Nokia.

Hope this helps.

WARNING!! ---MANY--- problems with the above plugin. Not even an alpha release candidate.

I would definitely not recommend using it.

At first it appeared fine, but then... who knows what went wrong...

Example: fortunately I did not have my Nokia synced with my entire Address Book (or most of it would have been deleted), but rather a group folder which was almost entirely trashed!!

Example: after syncing -- a huge number of calendar events changed from one calendar to another (i.e. "Money In" which was green turned in to "Extremely Important" which is red).

Now I have to go and individually change all of these.

Time to look for another cell phone until someone can make this sync up correctly.

Warning heeded. I was going to try it tonight when the house was quiet and now I won't. Thanks.

It wasn't something I NEEDED to do anyway, just something I wanted to try out. I know lots about my computer and like to get into it somewhat, but this sounds like it's a think I don't want to get in to.

Again, thanks for your responses and troubleshooting. I guess I'll stick to using my phone as "a phone" only.
