In an effort to help narrow down these problems I ask that you kindly fill out these questions even if you do not have Wifi problems
Brand of Router:
Does it transmit a Wireless G or N signal or both?
Does your iPod Touch/iPhone/Macbook/PC etc connect fine to your router?
Do you have a password on your Wifi connection?
If so, what type of encryption do you use? (WPA/WEP etc)
If you disable the password does it fix the issue?
If so, do you still lose the wifi (in the top left) but then it reconnects?
Thank you all, I am hoping strongly this is a software issue and not a hardware one!

All my other stuff iPhone G, 3 iPod touches, and nitendo ds all are fine, in fact during one of the cutoffs my wife was using her touch and had no problem.

My issue isn't that I lose a connection. The iPad simply won't talk to the network, despite having a valid IP. This has happened at two different locations. If the iPad goes into a standby mode, when it comes out it will still show maximum signal strength but will not talk to the router.

Don't have a problem with iPad 64 GB connecting to either N-only or B-G Extremes.
At this point I'm leaning towards more of a software issue, I realize that many stores have been closed this weekend. If any of you exchange your iPad can you
please post back and tell me if it fixed the issue? If not, then we are very likely looking at an OS 3.2 issue!
For those with the Sprint Overdrive, if you are having it drop the signal and make you re-enter your password, disable your password protection. others with password protected routers may want to try this as well.

_________________________ I had a wifi connectivity problem last night with my 64GB iPad. As described by others in the thread, the iPad seemed to lose its understanding of the network after being dormant for a few hours, requiring reconfiguration of the Wifi network.
What worked for me was adding my iPad's MAC address to the base station's ACL. I haven't had connectivity issues since. However, I also applied this morning's Airport Extreme firmware update. Perhaps that was the real fix?
Hopefully it is resolved. If not, I'll post again.
I was planning on returning mine after having so much of a problem with connectivity and figuring it was my unit but considering what I'm reading here, I will hold on to it for a while in the hope that the issue is software, an OS update will fix the issues and also will be available quickly.
This is what I am seeing - not reconnecting after sleep. All my other Mac (MacBook, itouch, iMac) and windows devices have never had this issue so I hope this is considered a bug. I've got a linksys 54g also doing b for an old device. I guess I'll find out if I can name the bands separately.
