Canon iP4000R - printing CDs & DVDs

Hi
Since upgrading to 10.6, I've been unable to print discs wirelessly using my Canon Pixma iP4000R.
After upgrading the drivers "Canon Printer Software Update 2.3", I can print wirelessly to A4 paper, but the DVDs printing just drags the DVD in, takes 5 mins to pretend to print and spits it out blank.

Using driver Canon iP4000R. I've used the Gutenprint version also with no luck.
Anyone else found how to fix this?

Hi there.

I have a Canon iP5200R and I can still print from Canon's CD LabelPrint application onto CD's via wireless. This was with the previous v10.26 driver and now with the v10.30 driver.

As a test, if you were to connect the printer directly to the Mac via USB, does the same issue exist with DVD printing? Just trying to work out if it could be a driver issue or a communication issue. Also, can you reply with what software and version you are using to print on the CD's.

Unfortunately not all of Canon's support staff are as Mac literate as whoever you had the pleasure of talking to. My experience has shown me, and this forum backs that up, that the first level support people you talk to don't know much about Windows and very little about Mac. If you manage to get past this first level, then you may have a chance of getting someone knowledgeable. But this can be quite a task to achieve...
