How do you change your WAN IP address on an AEBS

Most other routers I've seen have this function, but this BS only has "Renew DHCP lease" which is certainly NOT what I want.

The problem will occur with DHCP over time. If someone flamed a forum that you belonged to and their IP address got banned, then you try to access said forum with a newly-assigned IP address from your ISP's DHCP pool, YOU are now banned. By releasing this address and connecting with another, your problem is solved.

Otherwise, you are persona non grata until your IP address changes. If Apple cannot add this function to the AEBS, I wonder if I can send messages to my ISP's router to do the same thing?

If you receive a dynamic IP address from your ISP, I suppose you could change to another dynamic IP address by restarting the AirPort Extreme. You would have no control over the address that you received from the ISP.

I don't think that's what you are asking about, correct? As I read your post, I assumed that you were asking if you could change the current address to an address that you specified. That's not possible with Apple, as I answered.

If you have a static IP address that has been assigned by your ISP, then as Duane mentions, you'll need to contact your ISP.
