Safari keeps logging me out...
Anyone else have this problem?
I am using Leopard 10.6.3... Safari 4.0.5... Macbook Pro.
Help!?!?!
Mac OS X (10.6.3)
Mac OS X (10.6.3)
I tried those suggestions, prior to install a clean new safari, except not following up the cookie drop thing and i'm not using extensions. The only solution that works: Chrome 😢
did you reset it completely?
did you remove Safari completely using "App Cleaner"?
You can also try to delete all entries in the Keychain that are related to Facebook.
Yeah, ~Bee, give me a break. The problem is the fact that this issue hasn't been fixed in the 2 years this topic has existed, not the behavior of users on the forum. I've tried every solution here, as Mikehkg, and the problem still crops up without regularity or discernable cause. Apple needs to FIX THIS, then you can start criticizing people for posting on an old, unsolved topic.
Flori72 you are my hero of the week! I am not using Facebook often and didn't note this log-out problem at Facebook but another site. As you suggested i deleted 2 Facebook related Keychain entries anyway (not the one for iPhoto because i do trust Apple code) and…tadaaaa! the problem is gone 😎. Thanks a zillion!
Hey guys, there seems to be some debate about wether this problem exists (or still exists.) I am using Version 5.1.7 (7534.57.2) and this is still going on for me. It will lose everything all at once, Gmail, Facebook, Our internal web application, etc.
It also only occurs on this one machine, there are several other Mac users here on Safari that do not have this issue. Wish someone would fix this!!!!
did you check the solutions proposed above?
I have had this mac for three years, suddenly I started getting kicked off of ancestry.com I found all these complaints going back to 2010...Steve Jobs would be so proud of Apple employees not addressing this issue but I think
he would make someone fix this even if he had to call ancestry.com I believe ancestry.com doesn't like apple computers or mac users! I'm going to cance them.
Below is a reply I received today from Ancestry.com...
If you would like to contact Apple, that may get them to fix this sooner, but this is an issue that was caused by an update that they created that won't allow the cookie that we use to keep you signed into your account to be stored for very long in the browser as it is in Firefox, Internet Explorer and several other web browsers and used to be in Safari, but isn't anymore. We have tried a few changes to fix this issue, but no matter what we have tried, the same issue is happening with Safari, so this will have to be fixed on Apple's end, but so far they haven't made any changes that fix this that we are aware of.

Well i announced above that my same problem was solved but relieve in fact lasted only a few hours 😠. Sometimes i misstakenly still use Safari and get booted from the site after a few hours, sometimes right after logging in.
Installed the newly released Safari 6 and my problem is gone! I tested it for several days now 😎
Which version of OS X are you using? Mine was solved by an OS X update, not by a Safari update itself. If I'm thinking right, OS X 10.7.4+ solved the problem for me.
In case any web developers stumble upon this post, barbutti47's solution of using session_regenerate_id() solved the problem we were having of Safari on iPhones constantly kicking people out. I added that line to the controller and it seems to prevent it from randomly dumping the session cookie.
I had the same problem and it irritated me so much! until I found the solution
dont know if this answer is here yet so ill just post it..
go to safari preferences
click the passwords tab
scroll down till you find the facebook address and it should say password never saved or something like that
click on it and remove it
now go back to facebook and log back in
when it asks you if you want to save the password click yes and le voilà !
Same here, Safari 5.1.10 on my Mac 10.6.8 - 27 Sep 2013 !!!
I have the same problem:
MacBook Pro 10.8.5 Safari 6.0.5 (8536.30.1), no problem with Chrome.
No problem with iPad 6.1.3 (10B329), I don't know how to find Safari version in iPad.
