How to create a document in landscape orientation??

I am having this problem as well. I am hoping that I'll be able to do it on my big computer, then download it to the iPad, but haven't figured that part out yet either.

I did the exact same thing. I created a blank landscape file and used iWork.com to get it into Pages on the iPad. I then just use the duplicate option so that I always have the blank there when I need it.

I imported a document where the first section is portrait and the second is landscape with tables. Pages for iPad converted the entire document to portrait...so I can't scroll to the right to see/ edit the entire table. No fun. I guess I will have to mod the document prior to moving it over to pages. Seems like Changing a doc from portrait to landscape is a basic word-processing feature.

Also my issue, hence voicing complaint rather than offering suggestions. I don't work with a Mac at my office, so I have downloaded and imported .doc format in landscape, modified and then when saved in pages, it is converted to portrait format and half of my work in a table will not show or print. Seems like a simple button to add to the document setup page.

I agree for this point but documents mixing portrait and landscape aren't basic feature.
The feature is unavailable in Pages for mac so, it would be surprising to get it on ipad.

However, this feature is quite common in the enterprise setting and business users expect to be able to do this in any word processor. I hope it is something that Apple fixes real soon.
I also have the same issue when viewing the 'mixed' documents say from email on the iPad but works ok on the iPhone.
