Can't hear on Skype

Can't hear on Skype

I have a Hue webcam which has installed successfully using the latest driver download.
When I connect to Skype - I can see them, they can see me. I can hear them BUT they *can't hear me*. I have set every permutation to resolve this without success.
I am waiting for a reply from Hue who make the webcam but thought I would try here as well.
Does anyone know why the mic input from me doesn't work and how to fix it??

Skype>Preferences>Audio. What is the audio input set to?

Hi
The audio input is set to USB20 camera.
I have also tried both of the alternatives - they didn't work either.
Others who know more about computers than me have tried but no success.
I am hoping this site and a message to the makers will come up with something.

That won't work unless the camera has a mic. Have you tried a plug in mic?

Have you checked that the mic works? In addition, the problem may lie with the suitability of the camera use with Skype. Have you inquired in the Skype forums? Have you inquired from the camera manufacturer?

It is a Clique Hue webcam with built in mic bought new when I bought the Mac. I have checked that the mic works. I have sent a contact to the manufacturer and checked their site with all the troubleshooting and FAQs but none of them cover this problem.
I don't hold up much hope on a reply from them. It is compatible in every other way just this mic out using Skype.

What happens if you disconnect the camera and just talk using the built in mic in the Mac?

Hi
The manufaturer of the webcam has replied and I have sent some more info to them so I will see what they come up with.
I did a mic check on the mac and could see the input volume working. It continues to work until the person I am calling on Skype answers and then it stops.
It only works again after a reboot.
I have told them this so hopefully they can solve t.
I do not have a built in mic as far as I know so the one on the webcam is the only one I have.

The manufacturer of the Clique Hue webcam came back to me and we have solved the problem. The webcam was plugged into a hub and it needed to be plugged into a direct usb on the computer tower. They sent me a long list of things to test but suspected that it would be the hub which it was.
It now works with Skype.
The customer support was excellent.
