Moving from U.S. to Australia

I'm moving from the U.S. to Australia and I'm wondering what I need to do to take my iMac with me. Power is the obvious difference. Do I need to buy a voltage converter or does the iMac have an internal DC converter that takes multiple voltages similar to a notebook?

iMac 8,1, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

The iMac is built to run on 110-240 volts, so power-wise it should be fine. The wall sockets are different. you will need a travel adapter, or you can go buy a computer power cable once you're there with the proper plug.

I'm jealous!!! I took a trip there decades ago and fell in love with the country and the people. I wish I had stayed.

Have you called the Apple 800 number? They might have some advice. If you live near an Apple Store, that might also be a source of informationn

You just need the correct adapter for the wall sockets. Grab one from an Apple Store when you arrive here.

Hi - did you move to Australia already? Did everything work fine? I'm also moving and need (re)confirmation that there are no issues w/ 220 V.
