I've just updated iTunes and the iPhone Configuration Utility to the latest versions, and I'm now receiving the error 'The ordinal 2760 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll.' After I click on 'OK' another notice pops open 'iPhone Configuration Utility failed to locate Apple Mobile Device Support. Please reinstall iPhone Configuration Utilty. You can download it from....'
I've tried removing and reinstalling both application, and rebooting between, before, and after. Nothing helps.
Anyone run into anything similar? I'm using this to configure a ton of new iPhones for our company, and can't continue the roll out.
I solved this on my PC by renaming the LIBEAY32.dll in the c:\windows\system32 folder and then coping the LIBEAY32.dll file from the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support folder to the c:\windows\system32 folder and restarting my computer.
I am having the same problem. The file listed did not exist in my System32 folder, so I copied it from the Apple Mobile Device folder and rebooted. I still can not load the iPhone Configuration Utility 2.2
Renaming LIBEAY32.dll in the system32 folder and copying the file from Mobile Device Support worked for me. Did not require a reboot. When starting the Configuration Utility, it apparently saw the file and worked.
I also have a similar problem -- after installing the iPhone Configuration Utility, I try to run it and I also get the "...failed to locate 'Apple Mobile Device Support', Please reinstall.." error message, but nothing related to the libeay32.dll library. I have the latest iTunes (I updated it a week ago 9.2.0.61)... anyone have any luck with this problem?
Even though I didn't have any errors that mentioned those libraries, copying them to system32 and rebooting did the trick. I didn't have any previously installed libraries by that name in system32 already so I am not quite sure where the conflict was coming from. Thanks.
On Windows, I replaced the libeay32.dll v 0.9.9.1 (intalled with IPCU v3) with libeay32.dll v 0.9.8.8. This file is located in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support directory. I downloaded the binaries from
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/openssl.htm.
I just came over the same error message. The easiest and most non intrusive way to help out is to copy both libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll from "%CommonProgramFiles%\Apple\Mobile Device Support" to "%ProgramFiles%\iPhone Configuration Utility" or what it is called in your language. This way all apps relaying on the system dlls can work on as always and you don't face any other app problems!
