Macbook Pro display uneven lighting and color

has anyone had a mbp unibody 17" 2009 with display problems like uneven brightness and color? The centre is bright while the corners are dark grey. The top of the screen is also pinkish compared to the rest of the screen.

it is still under warranty, so I sent it to apple for repairs.

has anyone faced such problems with the mbp LED display?

macbook pro 17", Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Do you get the same thing on an external display? If so, the problem may be with the graphics chip rather than with the internal display. You might try running the extended version of the Apple Hardware test and see if anything shows up in the form of an error code.

Since you are under warranty, definitely have this evaluated and arrange for a repair if necessary.

I do not get this same problem with the external display. So it looks like it is not a graphics chip problem but an LCD problem that needs fixing.

My unit is now with the authorized service provider. I hope this problem will be resolved. Thanks
