Q: Formatting NTFS for Apple

Hello,
Because i cannot use the SAS configuration with the "Stupid" RAID" card to install Windows, i decided to replace the SAS drives by 2 velociRaptor drives, without the RAID card (we don't use it anyway !).

The problem...the velociRaptor drives are configured as NTFS !

I started the system pushing AltCmdEsc, but when i'm so far, NO HDD ?

Is there a possibility (hope so) to start from the Snow Leopard DVD and reformat a drive compatible for Mac ?

If the answer is yes (should be), how to proceed,

Thanks to let me know,
Regards,
Jean

There are or will soon be 450GB/600GB models from WD.

Use one for Snow Leopard and yes you'll need to change it from Windows Master Boot Record to GUID in Disk Utility in order to install.

I would not put both OS on same drive with Mac Pro.

If you want to install Windows, why bother with changing the one?
If you put Windows in first you are fine.
If you install Mac OS on one drive, you'll need to remove it temporarily while the install of Windows.
To use dual processor, Windows 7 Pro is necessary.

    My apologies, The hatter !

I simply forgot one simple thing.
When i disconnected the RAID card, i forgot to connect the suply cable on the motherboard !
    Et voilà...

The system is configured. I put two velociRaptors from 300GB each (much to much).
    HDD1 with Snow Leopard
    HDD2 with Windows 7 64bit Professional.

I actually don't need more room, i use external drives to save my folders.

    Thanks for your reaction,
    Regards,
    Jean
