Unable to add artwork in iTunes 9.1

Have just updated to the latest version of iTunes (9.1). I no longer seem to be able to add or modify artwork to my albums (previously able to do this through the right-click and 'Get Info' method).
This is pretty annoying as I've been slowly going through and doing this process manually to ensure the correct covers (especially needed for some of my older albums).
I've seen this discussed (and resolved) by Windows users. Any chance of a fix for Mac?
Hopefully this is also just a bug that will be fixed by Apple.

i'm on 9.1 and have no such problem - i don't think it's a bug.

try this first:

try this:

you can add artwork by going these routes:

1) individual tracks

right-click and +get info+ on the file, go to the artwork tab and click on add. navigate to the image file on your HD

2) multiple items

select them all in iTunes, +get info+, copy the image out of Safari or Preview, click once into the artwork box and paste the image into it.

still no joy ?

try this next:

check if you have read & write permissions for your iTunes music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so

you may also give everyone read & write access. if this doesn't help, try the same on your iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder).

Thanks Jolly Giant, but none of those have solved it.

Tried the right-click and get info option, both for individual tracks and multiple items - this was how I detected I was having a problem in the first place. When I go into 'get info' in iTunes, the lyrics and artwork tabs are in light grey and unable to be accessed.

Your suggestion about permission settings in Finder was a good one. But again, I double-checked and I definitely have read & write access.

Hopefully there's other suggestions...?

create a new (temporary) admin user account on your machine. log into that, fire up iTunes, add a couple of tunes, try again.

what happens ?
