Mpeg Stream clip

This is exactly my problem, have searched extensively but even this link I found from Jan wasn't completed.... a flip was given to me with some footage, all sound present in QT playback but when dropped into MPEG for conversion, no sound at all?
Any new thoughts from anyone?
