sgumz Level 1 Level 1

My Iphone was working fine this morning. I went to class, checked my email, everything was fine. The next time I looked at it, it was completely dead.

The battery was about 3/4 full, so power/charging is not the issue. I cannot restart it, the screen is completely black. Holding the power button and the home button do nothing.

Plugging it into my computer to sync does nothing. My computer does not recognize that anything is even plugged in.

Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix this??

Thanks so much,

iphone 3g

Sounds like it freaked out. How long ago was this? Maybe the battery is really dead and just needs awhile to get enough to "fire up" the phone.

I've found that while my phone is out of service areas (this is true of many cell phone models I've had), it'll drain battery power very fast looking for a signal.

Here's one for you.... Mine did the exact same today!

Hard Reset it. Hold BOTH the Home Button and the Sleep/Wake Button for about 15 seconds. Phone should reboot, Mine did.

Had the same problem. there's a guy above me that recommended a hard reset. Did that and my baby sprang back to life. I was dieing all day w/o my phone. >.<

Oh apply, why must you make such finicky products?

KevinC is correct...hard boot on the phone should unlock it. But have it plugged into your computer ready for sync when it comes back on. In my case, the battery was dead (less than 6% battry life).
