Bluetooth pairing issue with Droid phone

I tried pairing my iPad with my Droid phone (don't hate iphone fans) both my droid and iPad see each other and actually pair but the iPad will not connect. It just displays finding devices and the little windmill keeps spinning. I know they pair because both the iPad and Droid have the popup window with the Bluetooth pairing key which matches.

Anybody have any ideas on what might be the problem or have suggestions?

iPad, iPhone OS 3.1.3

You will not manage to pair - the bluetooth profile is for headsets only and file transfer is not supported at all. No workarounds.

This is identical to the iPhone.
