Controlling Articulation

I'm attempting to use Jam Pack 4 Symphony Orchestra in EXS24 and Logic 7.1.1. Works fine except I can't figure out how to change from legago to staccato. According to the Jam Pack 4 Instrument Tips document I should be able to do this using modulation control. Nothing I try works. I'm trying make mod changes in the Hyper Draw window.

You can do this in the matrix editor. Open your region with the matrix, and (I think you do it this way, but I'm not at Logic at the moment) in the view menu you can select to view automation. This will make the bottom half of the matrix become a blue box in which you can put automation nodes. There should be a little arrow on the laft which allows you to select what you are automating. Select modulation, and draw in some points.
Or you could put your automation mode for the track to touch and record the automation as you play back the track using your mod wheel.

It works using your second method. That is setting automation mode to touch and recording using my Roland XP-10 and it's mod wheel.

But, I've tried using the first method and still no joy. I'm selecting Modulation and setting various nodes but the articulation is not changing. Even tried Program change and nothing.

What else can I check or do?
