Shortcut to turn Voiceover on or off?

I am a visually impaired Iphone user. VoiceOver is very important to me but not all the time. Is there a way I can create a shortcut or icon to turn voiceover on or off easily without having to navigate all the menus?

Dell Dimension - Windows XP Pro, iPhone OS 3.1.3

Yes. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-click Home > Toggle VoiceOver

Then, whenever you triple-click the home button, it turns voice over on or off.
