    Hi, Thanks for the advised.

I did all what u have been taught but I can not see AppleMobileDeviceService.exe is running under Task Manager then I went to Control Panel, Administrative Tools and launch Services. I can find it in the list but it showed already started. I also try for restart still not work.

I did sth yesterday do u think it would affect the problem?

    1. Plug in my iphone
    2. Go to My Computer >> Manage and click Device Manager in the left tab.
    3. Click Portable Devices >> Apple iPhone >> Uninstall
    4. Unplug and plug your iPhone, now wait for windows to re-recognize your iphone and you will see it under my computer.

    Thanks very much

Something is wrong with your iTunes installation. The best thing to do now is to completely remove iTunes, then reinstall it. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925

lol...i've been bashing my pc for the past +24hrs trying to get vista to recognize my iPhone as a DSC since it "mysteriously" stopped working. I had read this post and verified my pics but all seemed in order...So after an iTunes un/re install, an MS Fix it (autom troubleshooting service-thumbs up, checking cables, tampering w/device management, i looked this post up again...My only resolve - email myself all suspicious pics and delete from CamRll... a lil'prayer...and waaaammmm!!! worked like a charm!!! We usually play so much with the photo apps, mms, browsing that sometimes we don't even think about it. In my case, after a thorough analyzing of my pics, I found during the emailing of one particular pic that it might be the culprit. The file when attached to the email appeared w/an unrecon file format, which to me raised a flag...just deleted that one pic at the end...I won't say ur a God, but TG u posted...u do know ur stuff... Thx a bunch! Now I'll proceed to download my 1144 pics from my iPhone --> PC!!!

    Thanks to Lawrence Finch
Having just spent three hours uninstalling / reinstalling drivers, searching google, turning on/off etc the solution recommended just works !!
I.e IF your phone is working correctly in iTunes but you can't see it in my computer (Windows) - as ridiculous as it sounds just go through your photo roll and delete any photos that have not been taken by the camera. Anything sent by email that you've copied over is the likely problem but anything you've lifted off safari. Unplug and plug back in the iPhone and it just reappears.
