I'm not able to find the photos that are on my iPhone in iPhoto. When the device is connected to the Mac, I can see the photos on the phone only. Please can you advise?

Are these photos you selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences to be transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/trasnfer process, or are these photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll?

    These are in camera roll.

Photos in the camera roll are "imported" to the computer from the iPhone, they are not really synced. On the Mac, you would use iPhoto to transfer the pictures to the computer.

Pictures that you have on the computer would be the ones that you would sync to the iPhone using iTunes. Photos are placed in a folder on the computer, that folder is selected in iTunes and then you do a sync. When that is done, the pictures are copied to the iPhone. Then, any changes that you make to the folder on the computer will be changed on the iPhone during the next sync process.

Anything that is significantly different for a Mac can be explained by Allan, since he is a Mac, I'm a PC

I have something similar on my I-Phone 3GS

I take photographs with the phone and when I look to forward them by SMS or e-mail they can't be found

When I connected to my PC they were visible!!
