iTunes declining incorrect billing information when its indeed correct

I have been using my iTunes account with the same credit card information now for a couple of years..i did change my address back in october but since then have been downloading content on iTunes as well as with my apple TV with no hitches whatsoever. Until 2 days ago i get a message that my billing information is not correct..after verifying the information several times and trying to purchase music each time i am told the information is still not correct..after calling my financial institurion to check they say they see the authorizations (12 of them) from iTunes yet still doesnt work...iTunes customer support rec i remove card and re-enter the information..still doesnt work...iTunes then tells me that i need to use a different card because they are not able to get the info back from my banks servers..so now i am in the middle of my bank telling me its itunes problem and itunes telling me its my bank...can anyone offer any help?

I have exactly the same problem with my VISA-card. Does anyone knows anything about this?

I got the exact same problem, it has been working for me earlier with the same VISA card, and recently when i try to buy something, its get declined.

So i removed the card, and tried to re-enter the information, but now it will not even accept the card. My girlfriend got the same problem, and it started more or less at the sametime. Last time i bought something was 5th of april.

A strange thing that i noticed was, when i go to edit my information, and click "done", it ask me to login even tough i'm already logged on. So if i click login, and try to buy something, it just say creditcard declined, and then after i entering my VISA information it say that i need to login.

i've had the same problem! I've used my credit card with my iTunes account for a long time now, and it's always been fine, nothing has gone wrong, until recently, when it would tell me that my billing information is incorrect when it is correct. The first time it happened, I just kept re-entering my information in every day, and then for a couple days I didn't mess with it and then it stopped. It accepted it and I was like, good, it was fixed. Well, just this week, it happened yet again, and its really starting to aggravate me. It hasn't told me to use a whole different card yet, but I just hope that they can fix this issue. I don't know if it's because of this new version of iTunes that we have because I know this never happened to me with the older versions.

I was having the same problem as others in this thread. I kept thinking the "wrong" billing information was my credit card number or expiration date until I noticed there was no entry for Security Code in my profile. I don't recall ever entering such and wonder if this is a new requirement with some credit card companies or a new policy with Apple. Anyway, once I entered the 3-digit code (or 4-digit for some credit cards), my iTunes authorizations worked fine in Apple TV.

iTunes prompts for billing info.

In most cases, this happens when there is an outstanding amount for the purchases made from the store. Updating our bank account, automatically fixes the issue, as the outstanding amount is deducted. It is also a fact that iTunes, sometimes holds a pre-authorization hold. For example, if you purchase a song for $1.29, an additional amount of $1.29 will be temporarily hold (For some sort of verification, to check if the account has sufficient amount? I honestly don't know), so the for a purchase to go through, there should a minimum of $2.58 in our account. If our account has insufficient amount, then the pre-authorization will be declined and iTunes will periodically try get a hold for the next 7 days, and the prompt to update the billing information or credit credit card will start poping up.

If the above info is not true in your case, then your billing info really needs to be updated.

1. Go to https://myinfo.apple.com
2. Log In with your Apple ID
3. Update whatever is needed.
4. Check the 'Address book'and 'Phone numbers' - Should match with your credit card.
5. Don't forget to save and log out

And then open iTunes and update the same billing information.

I'm also having this same problem and before seeing others' common issue, I thought it was because I've switched CC information depending on if a purchase is billable to my employment vs. a personal download. That practice worked fine for a couple weeks and this week, I'm now getting declined for BOTH cards.

What gives?

On a possible related note, checking my email on the way to work on my iPhone, there was an iTunes gift card to be redeemed sent to me. Figuring I'd check it out when I got in front of my laptop, I did nothing to the message, but when I got to work, the message is gone. GONE. Not in junk, not in spam, not in deleted. Kind of creeps me out and makes me wonder if it's related to my CC# getting declined in the iTunes store. I've called the CC company and nothing is showing up as being charged, but.... annoyed and worried.

I've had the same problem today. I somehow fixed it this morning and now the same problem is back! What really buggs me is that i bought an app today for 1,19 and i was charged 1,58 (no suprise) from my account and itunes is showing me that i owe them money when they did take money out from my account! i don't understand this!

I have no idea why this is happening and it just irks me that I can't get ahold of any kind of support to get some sort of straight answer on this.
It isn't just Visa cards- just to put that out there.
I have $15 on my actual account that I added from an iTunes card, but it still apparently needs my billing info. Well here is the thing, I have typed in my information- ALL CORRECT- but it keeps telling me that my security code is wrong. How can it be wrong when I am looking at the number right off the back of my card? I type it in exactly as i see it and it is the CORRECT security code. I know what a freaking security code is!!!!
So ***!!! Why isn't it registering my stuff and processing it as correct because it IS correct. I have re-entered the card number, re-entered the security code, tried to log out, log back in and anything I could think of that might actually, possibly work.
For the record, I f *king hate iTunes!!!!!
Took me a week to download this crap when I first got my ipod. This is CRAP!

Same thing here! I've emailed ITunes .I used the same card for years and most recently 2 weeks ago. They tell me to select the NONE box after the payment options! And then pick my payment option again.I WROTE BACK:I DON'T HAVE A NONE BOX!(see my post HELP :NONE BOX) Chris put in a picture of that page:HE HAS A "NONE" box.) how can we pay? In my email I asked how to get that "NONE " box and in that email back ... They won't tell me!!!!!!! The only response I got was "check with my bank" why security code won't work. ... Or buy an iTunes gift card .THAT'S NOT WHAT I ASKED!!! I've sent emails the last 4 Days with no help from them on this issue!!!!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY, Like I normally did? I even tried 5 other cards... Same response: Invalid security code.
