iPad remote control for Keynote?

Thanks Tulse! It does indeed work. I still would much rather have a small handheld presenter w/ laser pointer like the Logitec, which works great w/ my MacBook Pro, but the iPhone remote will have to do for now. Maybe iPad4?

I completely agree that a more general solution that supports third party devices would be far preferable, and I am flummoxed as to why Apple refuses to provide such. For now, I am just glad that the limited functionality we did have that was broken with 5.0 has been returned to us.

#2. If Apple could do it via apps , it seems probable that a third party could build a Keystone remote hardware and app. But, not starting with the innards of an iPhone to which the app could hitch a ride, the hardware likely would make it expensive.

By the sound of it 5.1 fixes the problem where the iphone needed to be capable of tethering (ie Hotspot allowed by phone company) before Keynote pairing via bluetooth would work. i cannot test this as I have tethering.

I have a bluetooth remote that will wirelessly control keynote up to 100 feet away. It comes in a foot pedal or a hand held remote. Ginny, I don't see it on the page you mentioned -- where exactly is the info?

I'm sorry if I sound dubious, but as far as I know Keynote for iPad doesn't use the standard Bluetooth setup, and I would be very surprised if Apple used a third-party SDK to accommodate a third-party device. Am I incorrect? I'd be delighted to have another option.
