Stuck in iPad pages document

Pages document is open on iPad. There are no controls. Can only open this single document in Pages. Document came as attachment to mail message. Opened it in Pages from Mail.
How do I get back to the documents screen in Pages?

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.3), iPad and iPhone 3Gs

Not true and not a bug. You can edit documents in landscape. You just don't see the menu or tool bar in landscape, probably to allow the most vertical space possible. So if you want to open a different document or set some features, you have to rotate back to portrait orientation.

If you feel strongly that this isn't the way it should be, you can submit feedback to Apple here:

This is real problem.

I emailed a multiple sheet Numbers document to myself and now mail is stuck with the attachment opened, and no way to close it. I have no controls in portrait OR landscape.
Mail is stuck with this attachment open and I cannot get out. I have tried restating Mail but it does not work. I had to restart the entire iPad to get Mail back.

Ditto ditto and ditto. Not only did waste time not being able to solve this, this morning, all of the sudden I see that header bar w/tools at the top. I made no recognition of landscape or portrait so it just seemed like it popped up for some reason. Now i know the reason. (unless things were really weird and it was in landscape mode when this happened.).

No doubt about it...needs either to be available in both views or a toggle or icon should be present. Imagine if someone has it locked on landscape. They'll never discover this.

Same thing just happened to me. Just downloaded Pages and was testing printing a document using Print Central. Emailed the document in Word format. Opened the attachment in Mail and now the only way to get back to my Inbox is to reboot the iPad.
First issue I've had with the iPad. Hopefully it will be fixed quickly.
