Keynote on iPad - Can't Loop Presentation

iPad makes a great table-top slideshow platform. But, I can't find a way to loop a non-interactive slideshow in the iPad version. Is it possible?

If not, basic functionality is missing.

iPad, iPhone, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

To add to the pile, I can't find a way to make the presentation loop either. I also can't find a way to make the presentation auto advance to the next slide after a certain number of minutes.

I want to create a kiosk style presentation for art shows where the slides auto advance but can be manipulated if someone wants to go back and re-read the artist statement or see the last slide.

You can't even take a screen shot of the slides and create a separate folder in photos because the power/home screen shot technique takes the shot in the wrong orientation. You can't change the orientation of a photo in the photo app. Of course you would lose the scripted transitions of the Keynote presentation if you did a slide show of the photos.

I would think that these would be basic functions that would help get these $500+ devices in the hands of sales people and educators and get them in front of thousands of people. I know it's a $10 app but it's hobbled to the point of being a one horse show and has the potential to be the whole circus.

it's not pretty but you could make a .mov of a Keynote presentation on your MacBook Pro. Open it in QiuickTime 7 (I am not sure about the new QuickTime), Command + A selects the full video, put the pointer at the end, Command V pastes the video to the end. Repeat a number of times and you have a loop. Fortunately, you would only need to do this once and you would have a repeating video that you could restart once an hour.

Let me rub some salt in this wound... I also want to use the iPad at an exhibit booth to run a looping presentation. I have a 50+ slide presentation that is mostly photos. I thought I could run it as a slideshow from within Photos, which does loop. Unfortunately, Photos reorders all photographs by the date the photo was taken - a piece of data you cannot see in Finder and cannot change.

In short, you have two methods to choose from and neither one works.

The maximum time for a slide on the ipad to advance to the next slide is 10 seconds. Under the transition option setting, the window isn't be enough to show this option, scroll the window. If you have the desktop version you can set this to any time length and the iPad version will accept this setting.

Personally, I build my Keynotes with the desktop version and send them over to the iPad via iTunes. As for looping either a video or a presentation on the iPad, doesn't work...
