what OS are you using?

Windows XP
what happens when you connect your ipod?

When I connect my ipod a message appears saying that I have connected a high speed device in a non-high speed USB port, I can see it in explorer
what happens if you use your ipod (not connected to
the computer)?

my ipod works fine, but I no longer have access to it in itunes. Like I said this problem crept up out of nowhere

I have also tried everything in that article to no avail. I just wanted to add, to delete that temp folder you need to boot XP up into "safe mode - no network" by pressing F5 when the machine begins to boot. You can then delete the temp folder and it will be re-created when you login to the system.
