Scrolling long comments pages

I've been getting frustrated while scrolling long discussions pages such as at Gizmodo. Just while casually scrolling, frequently and annoyingly it will select the ENTIRE discussion as if I wanted to copy it. When the whole screen is "blue", it is hard to deselect it. Is there any way to tone down the behavior (IE a double-tap speed preference), or will my experience with this issue continue to stink? Am I alone in this?

i found it easier to use a stylus when copying / pasting

The copy/paste is a bit clunky, especially when selecting outside of the window. Continue to practice. However, you should be able to just tap anywhere in the blue selection to cancel the selection.

Try using a swiping motion with your finger, versus dragging your finger along the screen. What is likely happening, is you are maintaining contact long enough to trigger the copy and paste functions.

Exactly my problem. Is there any way to adjust the length of time required to initiate the select mode because I am constantly selecting various bits instead of scrolling. It's highly annoying.
