iPod Classic 80GB (1st Generation) won't play songs all the way?

I have my iPod set as it would play 1 song over and over. Unfortunately, some songs don't play all the way. 1 song only goes for 4 seconds and starts back over and another goes for 23 - 24 seconds and starts over. I can skip over that time mark and it would play normally. Sounds like the flash drive in my iPod is failing.

What do you thing?

Thanks in advance,
Sir Wetzel

I have a similar problem in my 160GB ipod. (But I had it on my previous 30GB and 80GB ones too.)

It's almost as if the whole track is there but some meta data about the track has become corrupted.

When I check the afflicted tracks back in iTunes, they're fine. So I do a little fiddling to make sure they'll be synced again.

And, although I can't say this with certainty, I'm sure this has happened to tracks that once played fine.

Now, here's the interesting thing. Yesterday, I had my iPod in my pocket next to my phone. Now, I know mobile phones can interfere with nearby electronic devices. And when I went to play an album, two of twelve were exhibiting this problem.

Cheers
