Apps crash after I launch them

I get this one alot
I tap an app to launch it, it starts to open. sometimes makes to main screen but then dumps me out to springboard

for example, i launch weatherbug and it crashes
i launch it 3 more times, 3 rd time it remains open

i launch we rule, same problem

so I hard reset the ipad.

but same exact problem.
this happens on all apps i download from app store.

sometimes it crashes and other times it wont.

i launch facebook, works fine.

a few hours later i launch facebook and it crashes to the springboard.

I would say this happens on every single app store app I have d/l but does not happen on the native OS apps. it seems to be app store related, perhaps they are buggy and not iPad perfect yet as i imaghine most are not ported yet.

but then, those that are ipad aware or specific still have the odd behavior.

simple workaround is to keep relaunching the app until it works but it really ***** when ya trying to impress a friend...to demo it and the stupid app crashes 3 times in a row

this happening fairly regular for me. i would say I can make this issue happen at least 1 to 2 times an hour easily.

anyone else see?

Download any free App to your computer, then sync the iPad.

Voila .... no more crashing Apps (this is an old question from the iPhone so the answer should work)

not sure i follow
i use my ipad, and download, install app on ipad
i sync to my computer and it transfers the purchased app.

you mean to tell me, to fix the problem.....I must first download it via itunes on my computer and only then sync it to ipad?

is that what ya saying?

seems really dumb
does apple not want ya to use ipad to buy n d/l apps on it directly?

i have deleted the apps on my ipad
then when I resync to itunes, it re uploads them to the ipad but problem persists.

if i memba that was an issue when the iphone was jailbroken
to to get round that issue, ppl would sync up a free app which lets the illegal apps sync

this is not related to that

i have rest my ipad
so theres nothing on it
i go to app store download an app
i launch it several times and on the 8th it crashes

this is the common problem i have that apps in a random fashion fail to launch completely and require i relaunch them until it sticks.

its not just some apps, it seems to happen to all apps i buy from app store, iphone or ipad specific it does not matter.

i'm tempted to walk into an apple store and show the genius dude, see if he has seen it before.

same exact app that fails to open on ipad, works on iphone. altbought i have seen it happen on iphone, its not common, but on ipad i get it often.

I am definitely having the same problem. Happens to me occasionally with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NPR and other "iPad ready" apps.

If they don't launch the first time, it usually takes 2 or 3 more taps on the icon. Once they are running they work properly.

I have also purchased all of the apps directly over the air. My iPad has not been plugged into a computer since last Saturday (so a week now) when it arrived and I copied a bunch of music.

Is there any requirement to plug into a computer occasionally? Will the apps keep crashing/quitting without syncing to a computer?

you should not have to plug into computer or sync to itunes.

the app store is designed so u can d/l and use the app on the spot.

NPR app, yes this one does it too.

i've not found a cause or fix yet.

sync back to itunes does not fix it either like 2nd poster said.

i think its a bug on the apps and ipad, something thats conflicting and possibly an update either on the app or the firmware is needed cuz i'm seeing it happens to many other ppl.

I'm having the same problem with the built in iPod music application on my iPad. It starts to draw a window, then exits to the springboard.

I've tried removing all music from my iPad. iPod crash still happens. Tried resetting the iPad. Tried installing music back on the iPad.

I am having the exact same problem. All of the core apps seem to work fine but i am even having a problem with iBooks. Also iTunes has been acting weird. I restored the iPad and after the restore iTunes couldn't tell what version of the iPad os i was running, therefore iTunes wouldn't install any of my apps. I had to un-attach then re-attach, and still it thought that three applications couldn't be run.

After I restored my iPad as a new device, it is working fine. Note that there are two ways to restore, restoring from a backup, and restoring as a new device. If your operating system files are corrupted, restoring from the backup won't help. Restore it as a new device.

It's a pain, and took some hours to reload all of my apps and data, but restoring as a new device fixed it. All of the apps on my iPad are working fine now.

I powered off mine and that seemed to fix my problem so far. So if it's crashing for you, hold down the home button and the power button for 5 seconds to get the power off option. Try it again after rebooting and see if that helps.
