Services now just contextual selections

Services now just contextual selections

Suddenly the Automator workflows that are located in

/Users/<user_acct>/Library/Services

no longer show up in a Services item in the contextual menu when right clicking on files and/or folders. Rather, the individual workflows simply show up in the contextual menu like they did in 10.5.8

Actually, there is no Services item in the contextual menu. What is going on?

The Services submenu only shows up if you have a number of services. It may also depend on how big the main contextual menu is, but I'm not sure about that.

Ensure that you've enabled them in the Keyboard prefPane->Keyboard Shortcuts->Services.

I had six services that acted on files/folders. It turns out I "solved" the problem.

In the Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Services

I had unchecked "Open in GraphicConverter" under Files and Folders. For whatever reason when this in unchecked, the Services do not appear in the contextual menu; rather, the actual workflows show up directly.

I've only been using 10.6.3 for two weeks (upgraded from 10.5.8 -> 10.6.0 using DVD -> 10.6.3 using combo). Need to play around with this and see shat is going on.

They were enabled (my six). However, without Open in GraphicConverter being enabled, the services sub menu wasn't there and everything was in the 1st level menu.

Stumbled into the solution. Don't know why it worked. Will play around with it to see if I can figure it out.

Well some now work for me after this tip thanks.

Why did I not think to look for "Mouse right click' actions under Keyboard preferences...how stupid of me...Iw as looking in Mouse options....Mac ! logical! Intuitive...what a joke
