Ipad Safari freeze

My Ipad froze in Safari. Flashed a "connecting" icon/window over frozen web page but nothing happens. Toolbar button won't work. Cleared cookies, cache and history in Safari settings and still nothing happens. Other things connect via wi-fi including apps such as ibook, app store, itunes, usa today.
Anyone ideas on how to unfreeze/reboot the safari app?

Imac, MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Pressing the Home button stops the App from running ... failing that a soft reset by holding down the Home and Sleep buttons until it switches off will stop it fully.

Mine is still frozen. I did all of the above and also cleared the cache, cookies, and history, and even did a complete restore and Safari is still frozen. I had to install another browser for web access.

Many thanks. Tried everything suggested on another forum. Pressing home button and sleep worked and I've got my Safari/ internet access back.

changed wifi network and router

problem remain.

going to try others browsers
