How to close an App in iPhone 4

Especially the possibility to let apps run in the background. I just wonder, how can one close a running app. Let’s assume I do not need the app for the rest of the day? Can I then close it somehow?

As 4.0 has not been released to anyone but developers, look at your developer documentation for the answer or post in the developer forum. The rest of us have no knowledge of 4.0.

Thanks, I just thought as a general intersted, as I liked the idea. Maybe there is a developer that could give an answer. Otherwise we will see very soon - I guess!

If you're in the task switcher (double tab home button), press and hold the item you want to quit. Then just hit the little red badge on the app 🙂

Works great to manually close every app. Kind of a pain though, I find myself leaving a long list of apps open. Need a simple way to close app, and only optionally leave it running.

Since all developers are stuck behind a nondisclosure agreement you shouldn't have gotten an answer. But you can always watch the presentation video.

Theoretically for the beta of 4.0 no applications currently (other than what is being tested or created by the developer) support multitasking. So while they show that they might be open, they really aren't (except for the apple apps.
