Question

Creating a second page in PAGES

This may be very obvious, but I can't figure out. One I have created a document, and am on page 1, how do I create a second page (let's say a blank page), that is still part of the same document. The only thing I have figured out is to create another document. thanks

Insert - sections - page break worked for me. Is it me or is that tooooootally lame to put it there--why the $%^& put it under sections???? I spent 20 min looking for a $%^ &*() page break!!!!!!!!

Just get the format ruler to display, and then hit the icon on the far right of it. Choose page break.

You must be in portrait orientation to do this.

Thanks, but that doesn't work. I hit the symbol (the 2 arrows) while I am on my 1st page and it does nothing.

That's the wrong symbol. The double-arrow symbol next the "wrench" icon is the full-screen toggle. You need to get the ruler showing; tap the narrow medium-brown strip just below the toolbar. That will show the ruler bar. Then tap the right-pointing arrow symbol, to the right of the text alignment icons and select "page break".

Not to belabor this, but perhaps others can benefit. I got it to work on a Pages doc that was pure text. But am trying to get a 2nd page on a Pages doc that is a table with some pic, and no matter what I highlight that right pointing arrow is shaded out and the box on the far left (title, heading etc) shows nothing.

You can also just simply press return until you're at the bottom of the page and it automatically makes another page. At least it did for me. Good luck.

Is the cursor flashing? I think you need to be actively editing in a text field for the button to work. It won't work if you have an image, shape or chart selected.

At the top of the page, click on the "Insert" tab, highlight "Sections" in the dropdown menu, then click on "New Page"

There is no "insert" tab in the iOS version of Pages. There isn't even one in the OS X version of Pages, so I think you meant the Insert menu. And you replied to a post that was made well over three years ago.
