Looking for 2D cad drawing program

I'm a paving contractor and would like to find a 2D CAD or drawing program that I can quickly draw and dimension proposals for driveways or parking lots. Does anyone know of anything that would work for this yet? If there is I would like to purchase 10 or more of these to use for sales.

Thanks,

Most of the big ones like AutoCad and SolidWorks are really only DWG DXF viewers. From what I've read on the others vector creators, people don't seem to be happy with any of the CAD programs offered on iOS.

I'm not sure why even a basic 2D CAD program hasn't been developed that works properly. It's doesn't need to do everything.

CAD or Vector programs were some of the first programs developed over 20 years ago, (think Tron) running on computers with less than 4MB of Ram, Ipad has 256 MB. I'm no programer but it seems like basic tools such as line, trim, mirror, rotate, scale, Dimension and export should be easy to lift out of an old CAD program written in the 80s.

I love Ashlar-Vellum Graphite on MacOS, it's super easy and fast to use. I hope, I pray they make a basic 2D Graphite CAD drawing program for IPAD. That would be super useful. There is a huge Industrial Design, Product Development, Architecture, Engineering market for it. The old guys in the offices must not know it yet.

Maybe Apple could give up some seed money to help this market along. (but not to AUTOCAD they FAIL!)

Hi,

You may want to try PadCAD. It's a straightforward 2D CAD application designed with small projects in mind. It is NOT a full blown CAD app so don't expect 3D or fancy curve editors. I developed the project for my own use when I needed to rebuild our deck and I put it on the App store to see if it would get any interest. Simplicity and ease of use were my 2 main goals. I also made a free web version and a free Lite version for those who just want to give it a try without spending the money. Let me know what you guys think.
