External Drive (Drobo) seems to cause AppleFileServer to crash

I'm stuck on this one.

My home network includes a Mini hooked up via Ethernet to the Airport Extreme base station. A Drobo is attached to the Mini via USB. Everything seems to be working fine with the Mini and the Drobo. All the machines are running 10.6.3.

When I try to access the Mini via the Finder sidebar from one of my other Macs, the connection fails, but screen sharing still works fine. The console on the Mini shows that AppleFileServer has crashed.

If I eject the Drobo, the file sharing works again, so I suspect that there's something with the Drobo external drive being mounted that is crashing AppleFileServer.

I'd appreciate any insights - thanks!

MBP 2.2, Mac OS X (10.6.3)
