iTunes 9 can't convert an mp3 to aiff ??? ***?

i don't have the CD...i'm in need to convert a track someone emailed me so I can use in Final Cut Pro.

why does Apple change things all the dammmm time?

any help would be appreciated !!!

Go to iTunes>Preferences>General and click on Import Settings. Change your Import format to AIFF Encoder. Go back to your library and highlight the songs you want to convert and go to the Advanced menu at the top of your iTunes window and choose "Create AIFF version": iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format

well i used an old version of Quicktime 7... even the latest Quicktime won't let you do this!

why does Apple always do this *****?

Select track>advanced menu>create aiff verson.

If you find the advanced menu convert is not aiff, be advised that this option mimics your cd import preference.

I agree. I had to come to this forum to find that in the advanced menu. It has always been in the right click option menu and that's a good place for it.

I wonder what the change is for.
