jerky playback in viewer

When I load and view DV files, the playback in the viewer is super jerky but is fine in the canvas and timeline. Why?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2), 2.4 ghz Dual-core 4 gig ram

What size is the Viewer window set for?

Default: browser/viewer/canvas- above
timeline- below

Try adjusting your Viewer to Fit To Window.
Click the % button on top of the Viewer, you'll need an active clip in there to enable.
