I cant seem to get the iPad to connect to anything or get anything to connect to the iPad. I would really like to get the pics off my droid but it seems there is no decent method to do this unless ii sync both devices to the computer.

The iPad is not a computer replacement. It's a computer peripheral like your phone. You will need the computer to go in between the two. You can use Bluetooth on the iPad to sync contacts and bookmarks to your computer and then sync them to your phone. You can use the Apple wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard to type on your iPad directly without a computer in between.
Thanks for the info. I suppose the email method is best for now. I realize this I not a computer replacement but I was hoping for a few more basic features. I am sure apple will be adding more features in the next few release.
